# A free announcement bar for PrestaShop
Concepty Smart Notice displays a custom information banner at the top or bottom of your PrestaShop storefront. Announce a temporary closure, changed delivery deadlines, a seasonal offer or an important customer update without editing your theme files. The message, button and styling are configured from the module administration page.
Why use a store notification banner?
Some messages need to be noticed before customers reach a product page. A short notice is helpful for holiday closures, dispatch delays, upcoming events, scheduled maintenance and links to special information pages. It is not a substitute for legal notices, transactional emails or discount rules, but provides a clear editorial announcement.
Main features
Editable message and optional link button
Write a message with line breaks, bold, *italic* and basic text links. You may add a button with your own label and URL, or leave it disabled. You can also choose whether the link opens in a new tab.
Top or bottom, independently sticky or non-sticky
Select either top or bottom placement. The fixed setting is separate, allowing the bar to remain on screen during scrolling or stay in the normal page flow. The four combinations are available where your theme provides the expected PrestaShop hooks.
Colours and live preview
Control the banner background, banner text, button background and button text independently. The module's administration page includes an immediate preview with desktop and mobile modes, so you can check the visual appearance before saving.
Dismissal behaviour
Enable an optional close icon. When visitors dismiss a notice, choose whether it remains hidden only until page reload, for the browser session, or for 1, 7 or 30 days. Browser storage is used for the persistent choices. Changing the notice content allows the newer message to reappear.
Desktop and mobile visibility
Use two separate switches to display the notice on desktop, on mobile, or on both. This is useful when you want to limit the space occupied by a banner on smaller screens.
Start and end dates
You can optionally schedule the first and last day of an announcement using the shop's time zone. Without date restrictions, the notice displays according to its activation and visibility settings.
Install and configure
1. Download concepty-smart-notice-prestashop-1.0.0.zip.
2. Open Modules > Module Manager in the PrestaShop administration panel.
3. Upload and install the ZIP file.
4. Activate the banner and enter your announcement text.
5. Set optional link text, URL, colours, placement and fixed behaviour.
6. Configure dismissal, device visibility and optional publication dates.
7. Save and check the result on the storefront, including mobile.
The module is designed to use native PrestaShop hooks rather than edit official theme templates. Custom themes must contain the relevant hooks. No SQL import is necessary to install the module into your shop; the SQL file in the product package is for the Concepty catalogue listing only.
Version and compatibility
Version 1.0.0 is illustrated using real screenshots from PrestaShop 9.2.0. The catalogue listing declares PrestaShop 9.X. The code also advertises a technical range including PrestaShop 8.x, but this must not be mistaken for verification across every release and theme. Always check your own environment before production use.
Frequently asked questions
Can I place a non-sticky banner at the bottom?
Yes. Position and sticky behaviour are independent settings.
Can I hide it on mobile?
Yes. Desktop and mobile have separate visibility toggles.
Can customers close the notification?
Yes. Enable the close button and choose how long their choice is remembered.
Can the message expire automatically?
Yes. Optional start and end dates provide basic scheduling.
Is a link button required?
No. The button is completely optional.
Does it require theme modifications?
Not with compatible official theme hooks. Custom themes should be checked.
