Module description

Show customers how close they are to the free-shipping threshold

A customer may be only a few euros away from a free-shipping threshold without realizing it. Concepty Free Shipping Progress displays a progress bar and a message telling shoppers how much more they need to add to their cart. This is an informational module: it does not change the delivery prices or the shipping rules configured in PrestaShop.

Cart, product pages, or both

Two independent settings let store owners decide where the bar appears:

  • Cart page: a progress bar in the cart summary, near the order totals.
  • Product page: a bar above the quantity and Add to cart area, when supported by the theme.
  • Both locations: enable both switches together.

The product-page bar reflects the customer's existing cart. It does not pretend the displayed product has already been added.

Automatic cart updates

The progress uses the tax-inclusive product total after cart discounts, excluding shipping costs. It updates after cart changes and quantity adjustments through PrestaShop AJAX events and additional compatibility checks for different themes.

An empty cart shows the threshold message; a partial cart shows the remaining amount; once the threshold is reached, the bar reaches 100%. The progress indicator is hidden for carts containing only virtual products. Monetary values are converted to the currency used by the shopper.

Easy back-office configuration

You can choose where the module is displayed, use PrestaShop's native monetary free-shipping threshold or set a manual display-only threshold, edit the title and all three progress messages, add a note under the bar, and customize the fill, background and text colors. An illustrative preview helps you check your changes.

Messages support {amount} for the remaining amount and {threshold} for the target amount. Setting a manual display threshold does not activate free shipping in the store.

Install the free module

1. Download conceptyfreeshippingprogress-1.0.0.zip.

2. In PrestaShop, go to Modules > Module Manager > Upload a module.

3. Install the archive, open its configuration and enable the desired locations.

4. Configure your threshold, wording and colors.

5. Test the cart and product pages with your theme, currencies and delivery methods.

Module version: 1.0.0. Used on a PrestaShop 9.2.0 test store and presented under the 9.X compatibility family. The code also targets PrestaShop 8, which is not claimed as tested here. Custom themes may need a positioning adjustment.

No database tables are added, and the module does not overwrite PrestaShop core or theme files.

Important: shipping eligibility

The progress bar is based on a monetary target, not a guarantee of free delivery. Carrier restrictions, addresses, delivery zones, coupons, product types and weight-based rules may affect the delivery fees at checkout. If the store has no native monetary threshold, automatic mode cannot calculate the progress bar.

Frequently asked questions

Can I enable only the cart display?

Yes. The cart and product-page options are fully independent.

Does it update when quantities change?

Yes, after supported AJAX cart events and with additional fallback checks. Test it with your particular theme.

Does the manual threshold change my shipping settings?

No. It affects the progress message only; PrestaShop remains in charge of shipping eligibility and rates.

Are multiple currencies supported?

The reference threshold is converted to the active shopper currency.

Does it require editing my theme?

Not with a theme that supports the expected hooks and selectors; specialized themes may need an adjustment.
