Smart Notice is a free WordPress notification bar plugin by Concepty. Display a customizable information banner at the top or bottom of your website to announce an event, opening hours, a temporary closure, a promotion, or an important update. Configure the message, colors, action button and visibility directly in the WordPress dashboard.
Place the notification bar at the top or bottom
Smart Notice separates two important controls. First, choose top or bottom placement. Then independently choose whether the bar is fixed on screen while scrolling or remains in its normal position within the page. These settings make it possible to display either a persistent notice or a more discreet in-page announcement.
Customize the message and optional call to action
Edit the notice text in the dashboard. Simple HTML formatting is supported, including bold, italics, links and line breaks. Add an optional button by providing both its label and target URL; leave either blank to omit it. The destination may optionally open in a new tab.
Adjust the banner background and text colors separately from the button background and text colors. Center or left-align the message. The dashboard includes a live preview to help you prepare your notice, although the final appearance should always be checked on the real theme.
Control dismissal and device visibility
You can allow visitors to close the banner or remove the close control. When closing is enabled, choose whether it stays dismissed until the next page, for the browsing session, or for 1, 7 or 30 days. Longer durations are recorded in local browser storage, subject to the browser’s settings. A changed notice can be treated as a new message and shown again.
The plugin offers separate visibility controls for desktop/tablet and mobile. This helps keep a banner readable on smaller screens and avoid conflicts with other fixed elements.

Installation
1. Download concepty-smart-notice-1.0.0.zip.
2. In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
3. Upload and activate the archive.
4. Open Smart Notice in the WordPress administration menu.
5. Enable the banner and set its text, position, button and colors.
6. Save, then check the website on desktop and mobile.
Compatibility
The plugin declares WordPress 5.8+ and PHP 7.4+ as minimum requirements. WordPress 6.X and 7.X are shown as broad families, not as a claim that every minor release has been individually tested. The supplied screenshots come from a WordPress installation displaying version 7.1.3. A theme should implement the standard WordPress rendering hooks, including wp_footer().

Can the banner stay visible as users scroll?
Yes. Enable the fixed-position option independently of choosing top or bottom placement.
Can I hide the notification bar on mobile?
Yes. Device visibility can be configured independently for desktop/tablet and mobile.
Is the action button required?
No. It appears only when both label and destination are provided.
Why did the banner disappear after I closed it?
The browser remembers the dismissal according to the selected duration. Try a private browsing window for a fresh test.
Does the plugin schedule announcements automatically?
No. Version 1.0.0 requires manual activation and deactivation through the WordPress dashboard.
